Avon Everyday Essentials

image

This could also be titled Favorite Things...because even though I do sell Avon mostly I’m a customer. So, I thought I’d share a few of my everyday products and why I love them!

Clearskin ~ I really like this whole line, but I use the Blemish Clearing Spot Treatment everyday. I used to have a real big problem with cystic acne, especially on my chin, especially a particular week a month. I used Nutregena for years, and while it helped it didn’t stop my problem. Then I started using Avon’s line Clearskin. First, I replaced my daily cleanser, then I started using the spot treatment. To my surprise I stopped getting those painful red swollen bumps! I now cannot remember the last time I had one. I still get tiny little pimples sometimes (usually when I sleep in my makeup, hello, lazy) but I use my spot treatment and they’re gone in a day. It soothes the irritated skin if I’ve picked at one too. TMI? It’s the real stuff over here y’all.

Moisture Therapy ~ I carry the Vitamin Treatment Hand Cream in my purse, but a giant bottle of Intensive Healing and Repair lives on my bathroom counter. Everyday. After my shower this is my fave. I live in Colorado and I have thyroid problems, I definitely get dry skin. If I forget my lotion in the morning my legs itch like crazy and my tattoos get ash-y. You know that’s a crime! My hubby works with concrete, it sucks moisture out of his hands and (tattooed) forearms too. Moisture Therapy Lotion everyday at our house, no lie.ย

Advance Techniques ~ Did you know Avon sells shampoo? They do. They have a whole line of hair care products, even color! I’ve tried several of their shampoos, one for volume, one for dry hair…but 360 Nourish is my fave. I don’t use conditioner; I have fine, thin, oily hair and conditioner doesn’t do anything but make my hair even more limp. 360 Nourish has Argan oil, Provitamin B5, and Vitamin E. It makes my hair soft and silky. A comb goes through easily after a shower, even though I have short hair that is not the case with shampoos that dry it out. 360 Nourish also makes my hair softer after I blow dry it! I get soft volume, not a bunch of fly-aways, and I can style it easily. Shampoo win-win!

So, there you go, a few of my everyday Avon products. In my bathroom, on my body, favorite things! Do you have an Avon favorite? Tell me about it! You might get a surprise package or something. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Stuff

Oh my gosh.
Firstly, I just need you to know that not every Avon catalog has lots of great stuff in it. There’s always some awesome deals and good things, but sometimes there’s just lots!
It’s campaigns like this that make me happy to be an Avon rep!
Here’s a few of my favorite things in C6…

New Spring Nailwear Pro+! The new colors are so pretty and fun, Painted Peony is on the top of my list. I’m also happy they have the Nail Dotting Tool. When I’m in a creative nail mood I use mine to make dots, flowers and swirls. I always get complimented on my nails when I have fun with the design.

I own this 8 shade eye shadow palette in the neutral tones and I use it almost everyday. I’m going to order it in the water colors palette as well because when I’m not wearing the neutrals these are the colors I use. I love that these shadows have a slight shimmer to them and add a little highlight to my eyes no matter what color I’m wearing.

I should also mention that my favorite mascarasย  -Super Drama & SuperShock Max- is on sale 2 for $8.99 right now. That saves you $10 since the regular price is $9.50. Please don’t pay full price for mascara! It goes on sale a lot, usually at $5.99 or so, so this is an extra good deal.

One last thing about eyes: Glimmersticks are half price right now too! ($3.49 instead of $7) Hello go-to eye liners! Awesome.

OK, I covered the beauty stuff I’m crazy about now let me tell what’s at the top of my want list in the fashion section. These shoes, the two-tone comfort flats, are so dang cute. Blue and aqua awesomeness. There’s also a white pintuck eyelet top in the Going, going, gone section I can’t stop thinking about. It’s perfect for Spring.

The last thing I’ll tell you about is a just because I’m an organizing goofball. And maybe those of you with kids need something just like this to make your life a little easier. There’s both a boy and a girl version of this days of the week clothing organizer. It hangs right in the closet so kids (or mom) can plan their clothes ahead of time. I think my husband would be happy if I did this when many days I stand in front of my very full closet and proclaim I either “have nothing to wear” or “don’t know what I want to wear”. Asking him what he’s wearing doesn’t always help me decide. Oh, for the ease of being a guy! Jeans, T-shirt shirt, sneakers, done.

So, yeah I just scratched the surface of all the happy happy in the new Avon brochure and there’s always lots more online than they can ever fit in it.ย  When I’m this excited about good deals I just have to share them!

You can email me anytime at expectfaith@yahoo.com and I’ll be more than happy happy to become your Avon rep. ๐Ÿ™‚

Happy Valentine’s Day, friends!
Be extraordinary, you deserve the very best!

Sew Happy Friday

A funny thing happened when I opened the fabric drawer today. I found a piece of pre-quilted fabric that had been bought for another project…Um, three years or something ago now. Oops! Then the thought just struck me that I would like to make a cosmetic bag. So I did.

Then I made four more…

image

Once I got started I just figured it worked so well I might as well use up the half yard of fabric I had. After all, if I use it up I can buy more, right?

image

I made a little cardboard template in the shape I wanted so they’d be somewhat uniform. I like a curved top on a makeup bag for some reason. My curved zipper sewing secret is pins. Lots of pins. I only pin the zipper to the outer fabric and I lay the lining in as I stitch around. It works pretty well I think.

While we’re here talking cosmetics bags I also have a little announcement to make. Beginning this month I’m now an official Independent Avon Representative! I’m kinda exited about that because I really love my Avon. I love their eyeliner, mascara, lotion, body wash, nail polish and fragrances. I’m my own best customer, really. It’s just a perk to get to share it with other people.

I have an online store where you can shop from anywhere and get it shipped right to you. There seems to always be a free shipping code or offer on the ‘shop now’ page too. Or you can always go the friendly face to face option and request a brochure if you live in/near Northern Colorado. ๐Ÿ™‚

So, now that I have a bunch of fancy new cosmetics bags for The Artist Place I’ll be tucking in some fun surprises for whoever buys them!

While I was having a sewing day I also made a cozy for a pint-sized mason jar turned sippy cup with a Cuppow. (I love these lids! Get them at Fab.com)

image

I used up a few of the dwindling scraps from Sweetwater’s Hometown collection. I love how that particular collection fits the mason jar down-home feel.

I did break two needles and discover I’m all out of short zippers. A trek to the fabric store is in order! I won’t brave the snow for just anything, but craft supplies are on the list. ๐Ÿ™‚ All in all it was a happy productive day! What’s been keeping your crafty hands busy?
